Bold = Top 40 / Bold Italics – Top 10

Debut Pos. of The Week represents that out of all new songs that entered the chart that week, where did Elton’s entry fall (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) For example, in 1970 Your Song was the 6th highest charting new entry for that week, meaning five other songs debuted higher than #89.

Duets or featured guests on a recording: #22 is a duet with Kiki Dee.

Note:

* #15 by John Lennon.

** #19 by Neil Sedaka.

I’ve included these releases due to Elton significantly being featured as a guest vocalist providing harmonies on both though he is not credited on the official release. Both of these songs were Number #1 hits. They illustrate Eltons impact on music during this time and received a lot of airplay among other official Elton singles between 1974-1975.

Pinball Wizard would have also been included due to significant airplay as well in 1975 but was never released as an official single by Elton John in the USA. It appeared on The Who’s Tommy Soundtrack album in 1975 (and later on Elton John’s Greatest Hits Volume 2 album in 1977).
